Project Description
Do You Have a Project We Can Help With?
Property Development
Cromlix
Former Sand & Gravel Quarry
Flight Goals:
- Survey the proposed site.
- Create a 3D model using photogrammetry
- Create a 2D orthomosaic of the site
- Capture aerial photographs for promotional purposes & to identify factors outwith the constraints of the model
Key Areas of Interest:
- The access road (B8033)
- Changes in elevation across the site
UAV 365 were invited by a property developer to survey a site in the Cromlix area of Perthshire. A flight plan was designed to survey the full site, and a wide selection of aerial images were captured to showcase the site and its stunning surroundings.
The geolocated images gathered on site were processed to generate a 3D mesh, a point cloud, a digital surface model and an orthomosaic.
All of these outputs were uploaded to a cloud based model which can be accessed through any internet connected device.
2D and 3D measurements can be calculated instantly within the project including surfaces, volumes, distances and elevation profiles.
The 3D model is an excellent tool for a property developer, as it allows the site to be viewed from any angle, with full customisation of any annotations.
The client can use this data for site marketing, project planning, and taking remote measurements. A particularly useful asset is the orthomosaic image, which allows measurement at accurate scale and also provides an extremely high resolution image for inspection purposes.
